The website of Steven Faulkner

Broker Dealer Banker Thief is Steven’s debut novel – a razor-sharp financial-crime thriller that recounts how the Utraco syndicate looted millions from one of  Wall Street’s major investment banks. A screenplay is also available.

Steven is currently working on Bad Aid: A David v Goliath tale of unbridled greed & corruption set in Kenya in 2008. Two strangers, a software developer and a water engineer, develop a revolutionary technology to send and receive money using only a basic feature phone. With financial support from the British government’s Department for Overseas Aid, they take the prototype to a UK telecoms giant, which, after receiving millions in UK taxpayers’ money, licenses it to a state-owned telco in Kenya to inflate its market value prior to an IPO. The two team up to embarrass the imperial telco and shame it into honouring its promise to deploy the desperately needed service across the country’s telecom networks for the benefit of everyone in Kenya.
